Following from what I just said (9/15/2006)
I've just read the other reviews written about it and I can understand where they are coming from. Although, when given some thought, this effect can be performed in many situations. It CAN be performed close-up though I wouldn't recommend walk around or table hopping of course. I have performed this effect close-up whilst at a dinner table and it blew people away. It can also be performed for cooperate events, or cabaret and it can be a very memorable performance.

Instant Respect (9/15/2006)
I originally bought it just to see what the method was. Now i use it in my act. It's a clever principle and the effect is a great reputation maker. I've often spoken to public audiences who have witnessed Etienne perform this effect and they love it. I've got to be honest, if I had created this effect, I would have kept it to myself so thank you Etienne for sharing it with us because It has been a great reputation maker for myself and I'm sure it will for others too

At a distance (10/14/2005)
The trick is great, but don't expect to perform it close up. If I were one of the two people on the "performance" aspect of the DVD, you would be caught out every time.

They say French wines the best... (5/15/2005)
However it is complicated to create the perfect bottle, with the exact amounts of different varieties of grapes, which must be blended, filtered, fermented and matured to 'pull off' what could be a spectacular sensation for the taste and so the mind.

As with this effect. A good amount of prep. has to go into this illusion if it is to be executed well and only really works with the mass of your audience at a distance(on a stage). The card effects Etienne produces before hand so to enable himself to produce the effect are very well done, however these must be practised and blended with fine presentation and confidence to fully realise their potential. Etienne is a master at working the crowd and negotiating them to where he wants them to be.

Even if you don't produce the final effect which may seem slightly ludacris, there is scope to adapt many of the opening effects to warm up an audience.

Not Just a Signed Card in bottle ??? (5/10/2005)
Firstly let me say in the right conditions this will be a very strong effect, much will also depend on the presentation (as ever).

The set up Etienne has on the stage at FISM might be difficult to replicate at many performing venues, although there will invariably be ways around it with some thought, the presentation will be more difficult and cumbersome.

The write up in the advert doesn't explain the remainder of the routine which is required to pull off the trick, I wont elaborate here but the bottle is used in another effect first as part of the routine, it isn't quite as the ad might suggest. Perhaps it would be more accurately described as Etienne's FISM routine culminating in a signed card in bottle ?

The gimmicked bottle is very ingenious, top marks here.

One that will be best suited to seasoned performers, definitely not for beginneres not so much because of the technical difficulty (although card sleights are of course involved) but more so the confidence required in presentation.

Overall a good impact trick which if pulled off successfully could leave the audience talking for a long time afterwards.

do believe the hype! (4/28/2005)
I've been reading a lot about this effect recently and wasn't sure whether it would live up to my expectations - it does!! and more!!

very well presented, and includes etiennes fism performance (which is good to watch just for the presentation tips). Effect's very strong too.

only very minor downsides: prep. required, and on a couple of occassions I had difficulty understanding ettiennes french accent.

a great purchase though
