A spectator chooses a card from a deck of cards and signs his/her name across the face of the selected card. The card is replaced back into the deck and shuffled. Then the performer picks a card, which is revealed to be an indifferent card. He places it into a transparent plastic card holder. The spectators can see the face of the card inside the holder. As the magician makes a magical gesture, the indifferent card morphs into the signed selection. The card is removed from the holder and handed out for examination.
Please note this trick is hand made in Japan, and once stocks have gone they may be many months wait for another batch.
Name: WOW!!
Price: 36
Creator: Katsuya Masuda
Demo: See Video
Packaging Quality: Simple plastic sleeve with simple black/white instructions.
Instructions Quality: Direct and to the point, this is relatively self working anyway!
Contents: Instructions, the WOW!! Sleeve and double sided tape (optional to use this!)
Prop Quality: Brilliant!
Initial Thoughts: If you haven't seen or heard of WOW!!, you are missing out.
When Masuda first released this trick, the buzz was phenomenal, everyone wanted one!
I was one of the first in the UK to get one and I haven't looked back.
WOW!! is a toy, a trick, an illusion and pure magic, all rolled into one.
The 'prop' is a simple sleeve that produces magical looking card changes.
After Playing for a while: When you buy WOW!!, you dont play for a while, you play for days, weeks and then months. It's one of those things that looks so good that you can't put it down
Try making a SIGNATURE appear on a NON SIGNED CARD. Very cool!
First Performance: When you read through the instructions, you are taught how to manage the deck of cards and the WOW!! wallet. Personally I opted for my own handling with the cards (use what works for you!)
When you 'activate' the WOW!! Wallet, the visual effect is that one playing card merges / warps / transforms into another. The slower you make this happen, the more magical the effect. This can be done REALLY close up, the effect is the same.
This is a really fun effect and I plan to build my WOW!! Sleeve into my wallet so that I can carry it everywhere without it being an 'extra' prop to carry.
Masuda has released other effects that seems to be very clever, but WOW!! was named so for a reason!
Overall Audience Reaction: I showed WOW!! to about three or four people in the space of about 20 minutes. Each and every one couldn't believe what they were seeing! The 'transformation' of the card isnt something that anyone would have seen in real life, it's like a TV Special Effect.
Pros: Small, well constructed unit, simple but AMAZING effect.
Cons: I cant think of any!
Value for Money: Worth every penny!
